Nestled in Dhauladhar ranges, Dharamsala is the district head quarter of Kangra valley. Dharamsala is divided into two parts lower Dharamsala (1380 mts), which is also called as the Kotwali bazaar, and the Upper Dharamsala (1830mts), which is also known as McLeod Ganj. Dharamsala is also called as ‘Little Lahasa’ and is the Office of H.H. Dalai Lama in exile.

Itinerary : -

Day 1, Arrival in Dharamsala (McLeod Ganj) Check in Hotel and relax evening a walk to the McLeod Ganj town, and visit Bhagsu Nath Temple.

Day 2, A visit to Bhagsu Nag Temple, HH holiness temple and Norbulinga Institute; Tapovan, Naddi, Dal Lake, and the St John Church can be visited. If time permits then one can also visit the war memorial.

Day 3, Drive to Mata Jawala Ji, Mata Bagla Mukhi and Kangra to visit the famous Brejeshawri Temple (considered to be the richest temple in India when Md. Gauri looted the place). It is also one of the Shakteepeeth among the 52 in India. Fifteen richly carved monolithic rock temples sculpted in the splendid style of the Kailash temple at Ellora and dating back to the 8th century are to be found at Masrur, just 15 km south of Kangra. Images of Ram, Sita and Lakhsman can be found in the sanctum of the main temple.


Drive to Chamunda Temple; and further drive to Palampur to see and visit the Tea Gardens. The Baijnath Temple is located 16 km from Palampur in the Beas valley and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Shiva is worshipped here as Vaidyanath or the Lord of Physician. Its foundation was laid in 9th century and was renovated by Raja Sansar Chand in 19th century. On way back to Dharamsala just 13 km from Palampur is the charming village of Andretta where once lived, a few years ago Mrs. Norah Richards, pioneer of rural theatre in India, lover of mountains and ardent disciple of Mahatma Gandhi. Her tall slender figure enveloped in voluminous black silk skirt and topped by a crown of snowy white hair, striding along the walks, is still remembered endearingly by the local dwellers that include Sardar Shobha Singh. A renowned artist, he gained prominence for his paintings of the immortal ill fated Punjabi lovers, Sohni Mahiwal, Omar Khayyam and Heer Ranjha.

Day 4, After morning breakfast you can complete your shopping followed by check out time 12 noon.
